Friends: I’m thrilled to share my latest initiative: The Joke Writer’s Lab—an online space designed to spark creativity and keep the comedy gears turning. Whether you’re battling writer’s block, looking to stretch your joke-writing muscles, or just want to generate fresh content on the spot, this is for you.
The Joke Writer’s Lab offers free, dynamic exercises tailored to both challenge and help comedians think outside the box and come up with ideas they might never have considered otherwise. It’s a space where joke writers can experiment, have fun, and generate some punchlines. The best part? It’s free. Also, I’m adding new exercises every week to keep things fresh.
If you’ve checked out my "Messed-Up to Set-Ups" podcast, you’ve already seen and/or heard (about) The Joke Writer’s Lab in action. I use it with every comedian I interview, and it’s been incredible watching how these exercises help generate creative, funny ideas on the spot and in real time.
So, whether you’re a comedy vet or just starting out, I invite you to stop by, try an exercise, and see what you come up with. Creativity is a muscle, and The Joke Writer’s Lab is here to help you flex it. (I know, that last sentence is kinda cringe!) Check it out now and let me know what you think!
