IMHO there’s really no viable choice other than to stick to our values. I’m tempted to tell a few jokes that “aren’t me” but the benefit of a single laugh isn’t worth the cost of losing integrity - for myself and audience. Likewise, part of my values is to hear what other people value and why. Maybe I learn from them, or they from me. That should be a big benefit of what comedy brings to the world.
