Hey Friends, I just wanted to share that I was recently interviewed by TheWrap, which, if you don’t know, is one of the top media outlets covering the business of entertainment. It’s kinda like getting to pull up a chair at the big kids’ table. Anyway, the article I got in on dives into the controversy around the Riyadh Comedy Festival. It discusses who went, who didn’t, whether comedians should draw a line, and if so, where. Out of a 20-minute interview, only a few sentences of mine ended up in print but it’s all good; that’s how it works and I’m cool with it. It’s always a little never-wrecking to do interviews like these anyway because you never know how they’ll portray you afterward. Still, on the heels of talking with Yahoo! Entertainment a few weeks ago, I’m really glad to have opportunities like these. It’s good, as both a scholar and a comedian, to see comedy being taken seriously and to be part of the conversation. Here’s the link if you’re interested in checking it out: TheWrap Interview.
