As I was reading this I was at a restaurant, dining solo and I had noticed how friendly the maitre de is. I took your challenge and asked him why he is so happy. He said he was on day 4 of giving up nicotine and he appreciated my observation. I don’t know why giving up Nic brings joy but now I’m thinking of starting just to get that level of joy when I quit.
